Where We Meet

Freemasons Hall Leicester

Once per season, on the second Saturday In September, The Chevalier de Fers Lodge meets at the Provincial Headquarters, situated at Number 80, London Road, Leicester. We are very lucky to have such a prestigious building, which is home to four lodge rooms, excellent dining facilities, a massive gated car park, and an impressive library and museum. Whilst Freemasonry in Leicester dates back many years, the building we now call home had its first foundation stone laid in 1909. The Masonic Hall Leicester was consecrated by the Pro Grand Master, Lord Ampthill, in April 1910. Since then, the facilities in the building and the building itself have been extended on a number of occasions. It now serves as a meeting place for the Lodges in the City of Leicester as well as for corporate and wedding functions to help pay for the cost of running such an impressive home.

As a Saturday lodge, some members who live long distances bring partners or ride solo and meet up with lodge friends and make a weekend of it  All Masonic Lodges meet at various times of the year, timing our meetings in April, July & September We hope to have good weather & plenty of daylight to ride to the lodge and home again, but given the British weather, some of our older members don’t ride in but travel by other forms but we rarely have a meeting without a collection of various classic and modern sports adventurers and trikes coming.. given the nature of the meal and bar after the meeting in the meal we sometimes securely park up our bikes from Saturday lunchtime till heading home on the Sunday…
